The Central Valley of California, with its agricultural landscapes, picturesque mountain ranges, lakes, parks, and wineries is abundant with pet friendly recreational facilities, restaurants, shops, nature trails and hotels. San Luis Reservoir and Yosemite are popular playgrounds for our pet pals to roam free. While pets are welcome at a variety of destinations and playgrounds, leash laws are applicable and strictly enforced.

Pet Friendly California Parks and Recreational Areas and Forests
All California National Parks and Forests allow pets on their trails and in their wilderness areas, including Central California tourist favorites Yosemite National Park, Stanislaus National Park, Calaveras Big Trees National and State Park, Napa Valley National and State Park, Golden Gate Park, Colusa-Sacramento River National and State Park, Redwood National Park and many others. Pets older than 4 months must have a certificate stating they have been vaccinated against rabies within the last year. They may be on or off-leash, but if they are off-leash they must be under voice control at all times.
